You do not need to be a writer. You do not need to be eloquent. You just need to say something true about someone you loved.
That is all a eulogy really is. A few honest words about a person who mattered.
Not the big things. Not the achievements. Start with something small and real. The way they answered the phone. The thing they always said when you left the house. The sound of their laugh.
Small details carry more weight than grand statements. They are what people in the room will recognise. They are what will make someone nod and think, yes, that was them.
A eulogy does not need to be long. Two to four minutes is enough. That is roughly 300 to 500 words. Say what matters and then stop. No one has ever complained that a eulogy was too short.
If you are struggling to find the words, that is completely normal. Most people do. You can ask a friend to help, or you can use a tool like ours to get a first draft that you can then make your own.
The important thing is not that the words are perfect. The important thing is that you stood up and said them.
